Our Programmes

Our Programmes

Comprehensive services designed to uplift and empower the Bayview community

🍲 Daily Soup Kitchen

Our daily soup kitchen ensures that no resident in Bayview and surrounding areas goes to bed hungry. We believe that every person deserves access to nutritious food, and our dedicated volunteers work tirelessly each day to prepare and serve hot meals to the most vulnerable members of our community — including children, the elderly, and those facing hardship.

🎓 Skills Development & Vocational Training

We equip residents — particularly youth and women — with practical vocational skills that enable them to create sustainable livelihoods. Our training programmes include:

  • Sewing & garment making
  • Manicure & pedicure (nail technology)
  • Hairstyling & beauty therapy
  • Small business development skills

We believe that equipping people — especially women — with marketable skills allows them to build small enterprises right from their own homes, creating economic independence and dignity.

🏥 Medical Camps & Health Screenings

Access to healthcare is a right, not a privilege. Our regular medical camps bring free health services directly into the community, offering:

  • Blood pressure screenings
  • Cholesterol testing
  • Diabetes testing & awareness
  • Eye testing
  • Primary healthcare consultations

📚 Education & Youth Development

Working in partnership with the Fatima Meer School Centre, we provide educational support and training specifically focused on youth in the Bayview community. Our programmes aim to reduce school dropout rates and open doors for young people to access further education and employment opportunities.

🤝 Community Engagement & Social Support

Beyond our structured programmes, the BUCC serves as a gathering place for the community — connecting residents with social services, facilitating community meetings, supporting vulnerable families, and fostering the spirit of Ubuntu that binds us all together.
